Sentosa

Sentosa is one of the many beautiful islands in Singapore......an incredible holiday spot ..... Home to unlimited fun and adventure.

It's a lovely place for children and adults with lots of things to do, see and eat. One whole day will not be enough to go round and experience it all.

You can reach Sentosa either by taxi or the cable car or Monorail. Once inside the island there are buses and trains by which you can go round the island.

Here is a list of a few things we did in Sentosa.

The first thing we did was to take a group photo at the Sentosa Merlion.

We then took the cable car to Siloso Point for the Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon show.
View from the cable car.......

The Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon

The Underwater World ticket includes admission to the Dolphin Lagoon too.

It was a thrilling experience walking through the aquarium...an underground tunnel.....with an array of Marine life from different parts of the world......on either side....

At the Dolphin Lagoon it was lovely  watching the pink dolphins and the seals perform.   Kids will really enjoy this show.  I love dolphins.

4D Adventure land.
We enjoyed  3 exciting 4D rides in the Adventure land....
  •  The Extreme Log Ride
  •  Journey 2 the Mysterious Island
  •  Desperados.

Our tickets for the day included unlimited rides to all the 3.

We enjoyed the individually controlled motion seats,  the effects of feeling some inects crawling on our feet, water being sprayed on our face, feeling the wind on our face etc....

Desperados was a shoot out game....riding on a motion based saddle.  Grab a motion based pistol...and...FIRE....

The Extreme Log ride is my favourite.....we went in for a second ride. It's a virtual simulation ride..... Fasten your seat belts, wear your 3D glasses, hold on to your chairs and  THEN...... Dive through the valleys....plunge down the waterfalls...travel up the mountains and into the tunnels....it's a whole new experience

Luge and Sky ride

Luge is a fun filled gravity ride down hill .  The speed of the car, the brakes and the steering are controlled by pushing the handle bars back and forth, similar to a scooter.   Small children can take the ride sitting on their parent's lap.
First timers are given a crash course on how to use the Luge....and then....there u go....

Their slogan goes "once is never enough ".... Yes... once is never enough... So do purchase multiple rides tickets.....put on your helmets, get your hand stamp.........and.....have a Blast!

Complete the thrilling experience with the unique sky ride.  Enjoy the scenic bird's eye view of Sentosa Island from the sky car.  I was skeptical of taking the sky car as I have a phobia for heights.....but let me tell you it was simply superb...

Trick Eye Museum

It is a trick of the eye by optical illusion ....
where 2D paintings are turned into 3D images .....it  was simply wonderful.

Our grand daughter was running around having fun posing for pictures .

Take time to go round and study the exhibits before taking pictures.....look for the photo points that tell you where to stand to get the best effect.

Capture those memorable moments onto your camera and turn them into everlasting relics of fantasy.

The light and sound shows "Wings of Time" set against the backdrop of the open sea and the "Crane Dance" are two attractions I've included in my earlier post "Singapore at Night".

The Wings of Time ticket comes with a meal coupon which we exchanged at one of the food kiosks for light refreshments.  We had an hour and a quarter before the show and we went round the beach and had dinner at one of the eateries.

Sentosa looks even more beautiful after sunset. We walked around the place enjoying the beauty of the place at night....

Loved the Dimsum at Din Tai Fung.

I enjoyed watching the dumpling masters work their magic  from across the glass door...

A visit to Sentosa is not complete without visiting the Universal Studios.  A full day is required to go round USS and therefore it is recommended that it's done on a separate day.....and that's exactly  what we did....

Watch out for my next post on Universal Studios Singapore.
